The famous god of love, Venus was the representative of women. Venus symbolized the feminine images of love, beauty and proliferation. And she and the planet Venus are of the same name.

Many scholars thought Venus of Rome came from Aphrodite of Greek. Yet the belligerent, jealous, selfish character of Aphrodite in the age of Greek was modified by Rome and became a beautiful goddess of mildness, love and sacrifice. This is a rather interesting thing.
